Is Squarespace a good platform for creative entrepreneurs and small-to-medium-sized businesses?

Are you a creative entrepreneur or a proud owner of a small-to-medium-sized business wondering if Squarespace is good for your business? If so, you’re just in the right place! As web designers, one of the questions that we often get from our clients is “What platforms do you use to design your website projects?”. The ONLY 2 platforms we trust and use to design our client’s websites are Squarespace and Shopify.

But today we’ll only be talking about Squarespace, and if this platform is really a good platform if you’re a creative entrepreneur or a small-to-medium-sized business. We can no longer count the number of times we've answered this question so many times for our clients, so we figured you probably have the same question so we decided to write a blog post about it, and share our thoughts with anyone interested.

As web designers, we've worked with multiple platforms and Squarespace is by far one of our favorites. But even though we are huge fans of Squarespace, we don't recommend it to everyone out there (that’s also why we use other platforms as Shopify 🤪 )!

Enough chit-chat and let’s get into the content 😉

Is Squarespace a good platform for creative entrepreneurs and small-to-medium-sized businesses?

SQUARESPACE IS PERFECT FOR YOUR BUSINESS IF…

1. YOU’RE AN ALL-IN-ONE SYSTEM TYPE OF PERSON

Are you looking for a platform that has almost everything integrated into an all-in-one system? Then Squarespace is the perfect choice for you!

With Squarespace, you can have visitors book appointments, buy your product and services, make reservations, stream your latest podcast episode, and much more. Want to check your analytics? Set up marketing campaigns? Manage your website with one click? Yes, that’s all in Squarespace!

The platform has all the systems integrated, so no more external plugins or other integrations to search and pay for, it's all there already!

2. TECH AND CODING ARE NOT YOUR THINGS

As a business owner, we totally understand, you don't have time to lose on technical details. After all, time is money!

So, if tech and coding are things you don’t want to be concerned about, Squarespace has your back. The platform is very intuitive and easy to use. If you need a fast way to update your website, Squarespace is the right platform for you.

We couldn't agree more when we say that Squarespace is one of the easiest platforms to make quick edits and updates.

3. YOU WANT TO DO THE WEBSITE MAINTENANCE YOURSELF

With Squarespace, you don't need to have an IT team to do all the changes for you, because even if you're not tech-savvy it's possible to make small updates yourself!

As part of our web design package, we even offer our web design clients a full tailored lesson on how to update and maintain their website. This is obviously a very personal decision and for this reason, we provide website support tailored to each client, or an hourly rate service after the project is finished.

4. YOU WANT GREAT CUSTOMER SUPPORT

The platform is very intuitive and easy to use, but Squarespace elevates their game with a great help resource section with guides, and an awesome customer support service.

It’s awesome that almost every single feature in Squarespace has an article and video explaining how to use it and customize it. This is a great help for us and our clients, and we even send our clients useful articles from this library to read.
