1. What IS Squarespace?
Squarespace is an all-in-one content management system (CMS). In the most simple terms, Squarespace is no more than a website-building platform, well known for being an all-in-one system, easy-to-use, and accessible to anyone.
Squarespace allows using pre-built website templates and drag-and-drop elements to create and modify websites. The platform has all the modern features used in web design, including security, mobile responsiveness, and miscellaneous optimizations.
2. What does a Squarespace subscription include?
Every Squarespace subscription includes website building tools, content hosting, search engine optimization, Squarespace analytics, responsive design for mobile viewing, and 24/7 Customer Support. For an additional premium, you can add the following features: custom domain name, email by Google Workspace, email Campaigns, advanced commerce features.

In January 2022, Squarespace has the following costs:

5. How do I get started with Squarespace?
Squarespace offers you a 14-day trial (no credit card required) to begin with, so the only thing you need to do to get started is to go to www.squarespace.com and sign up. After signing up you need to choose a template and start designing.
6. Which template should I use?
On the current Squarespace version (7.1), all websites use the same template, with the same features and style options. When you start your trial it’s required to choose a template but you don’t worry, because this is only a starting point this doesn't limit the design or layout you can create.
We recommend you try out the template demos to find a design that fits your vision and to pay special attention to the structure and style of the template.
7. Can I move to Squarespace from another platform?
For sure! You can move to Squarespace even if:
You already own a domain
You already have a website
You already have an online store
8. Can someone build my site for me?
Yes, while Squarespace is great for a DIY approach, many web designers specialize in mastering Squarespace to build awesome websites for their clients (just like us!).
9. Can I use Squarespace in my country?
Squarespace is a company based in the US but it’s available internationally in most countries. However, in some countries outside the US, there are some limitations at this time.
10. When is my website live?
Your website is live only when you change the “Site Availability Settings” to Public. Until you’re ready to publish, you can keep your site private or password-protected.
11. How do I remove .squarespace.com from my URL?
When registering for a free 14-day trial, all Squarespace websites come with a built-in domain URL that ends in .squarespace.com. It’s, of course, more than recommended to use a custom domain instead. You can do that by registering a domain with Squarespace, transferring a third-party domain to Squarespace, or connecting a third-party domain you already own.
12. Can I connect a domain purchased somewhere else to Squarespace?
Totally! As mentioned before, you have two options transfer a third-party domain to Squarespace, or connect a third-party domain you already own.
13. Can I purchase a .com with Squarespace?
Yes, you can purchase a .com domain with Squarespace, assuming that domain is available of course. You can even (depending on the Squarespace plan you choose, of course) get a free .com domain for a year.
14. Is Squarespace good with SEO? And where can I add keywords?
Definitely yes! Squarespace not only is SEO-friendly but it also has already a few built-in features that will help you set up your website's SEO.

15. Can I use custom code in Squarespace?
Absolutely! This is actually one of our favorite features of Squarespace, and also one of the greatest myths. You can add code and CSS styling everywhere. Carrie Owerko's website was all customized with code.

Small-to-medium-sized business owners, bloggers, creatives, solopreneurs, artists, photographers, yoga teachers, fitness studios tend to do well on Squarespace. 17. How long does it take to complete a Squarespace website?
There is no right answer for this one because it can take as long as you want. If you’re very tech-savvy and experienced with web design it can be very fast but if this is the first time designing a website it can take quite a while. 18. I’m a DIY person, Can I set up a Squarespace website on my own?

Of course! In fact, your website should look nothing like the original template. So, here are a few things you can do to make sure your website looks unique and on-brand:
Instead of using the template demo pages use blank pages and start designing from there.
Use and abuse the Style Editor trying out fonts, colors, styles, etc.
Experiment again and again! Don’t be afraid to break anything, trying new stuff is the only way you can learn a new skill.

20. I’ve created a page on Squarespace to be used in the future, Can I hide it?
Sure, it’s very simple actually! To do this, you just need to drag the page to the “Not Linked” section of the website, click in the page settings, and switch the page from 'Enabled' to 'Disabled'. Only this way the page is completely hidden, if you only drag the page to the “Not Linked” section the page will still be searchable.

21. Can I have a blog with a Squarespace website?
Yes, the blog option is included in all Squarespace websites and plans. You can set up your blog by going to Pages > Add a page > Blog. Super simple, right?
22. Does Squarespace allows to schedule blog posts to publish on a future date?
Yes! You can do this by going to your blog section, and then clicking on a blog post setting. Once on the settings, you click options, and then change the status of your blog post from “Draft” to “Scheduled” and you can choose the date and time you want Squarespace to publish your blog post.
23. How can I have optimized photos on my Squarespace website? What size should the photos be?
Big image file sizes will slow down your website, that’s a guarantee. So you want to have all your images optimized. Squarespace recommends using images that are between 1500 and 2500 pixels wide, and less than 500 KB per image to help your website load faster.
24. Can I make money with a Squarespace blog or website?
Of course! You can make money by using affiliate links, placing ads on your website, selling products or services, or sponsored content. Any creative way you have to make money online Squarespace allows it.
25. Can I use Google Adsense on Squarespace websites?
Sure, you just need to have a Google Adsense account and an ad, and you’re ready to go! To integrate Google Adsense on your Squarespace website you just need to copy the code from the ad, and insert a “code block” anywhere you would like the ad to be displayed.
26. Can I use Google Analytics to check the statistics from my Squarespace website?
Definitely yes, you just need to set up your Google Analytics account first and then copy and paste your Google Analytics Tracking ID into Squarespace.
To find your Google Analytics Tracking ID (UA-XXXX): Go to Google Analytics > Admin > Account > Property > Tracking Info > Tracking Code
To add your Google Analytics Tracking ID to Squarespace: Go to Squarespace > Settings > Advanced > External Services > Paste your Tracking ID in “Google Analytics Account Number”
27. Can I export my Squarespace analytics to excel?
Unfortunately, it’s not possible to export your Squarespace analytics to excel. You can integrate Google Analytics with your Squarespace website and there you can export those statistics to excel. Squarespace metrics are great for a quick overview of the important metrics on your website, but if you want to get a more detailed overview you should use Google Analytics.
28. Can I Add or change the preview photo that displays on social media when I post a link?
This is possible! You just need to go to Design > Logo & Title, and then upload a “Social Sharing Logo”.
29. Is it possible to have a 'Back To The Top' button on Squarespace?

30. Can I add a search bar on a Squarespace website?
Yes! It’s as simple as inserting a “search bar block” on where you want the search bar to be displayed.
31. Can I have my Instagram feed at the bottom of the page?

Squarespace is integrated with Acuity Scheduling, but we prefer to use Calendly.
34. Can I use pop-ups on Squarespace?
Yes! You just need to go to Marketing, and then click promotional pop-up. There you can customize the layout to match your brand and design style.
35. Can I offer an opt-in with Squarespace?
Yes, there are lots of ways you can do this. The best way though is to integrate your email service provider form with Squarespace.
36. What email service provider can I use with Squarespace?
You can use any email service provider you think it’s best. Although MailChimp is the only email service provider integrated with Squarespace, you can use any other email service provider like ConvertKit. To do this integration you just need to copy the code provided, and paste it into Squarespace website by using a “code block”.
37. Can I upload files (.pdf, .zip, .docx, etc.) to my Squarespace website?
