Squarespace Tour

Now that you know what Squarespace is and who is it good for, it’s time to show you around the back end of the platform. With this simplistic tour, you can see how using Squarespace is like.

SQUARESPACE BACK-END

Squarespace Back-End

After logging in into your Squarespace account you’ll see your website homepage and the main menu options on the left hand side. Once in the back-end, you can already see that Squarespace is extremely user-friendly, you don’t see a single piece of code displayed.

This is where you access all the functionalities you need to modify and manage your website. Pretty simple, right?

SQUARESPACE PAGES

Squarespace Pages

If you go to “Pages” you’ll see all the pages of your website. The pages are divided into “Main Navigation” and “Not Linked” pages. The pages on the main navigation section are the ones displayed on your main navigation menu, and the not linked are pages that are visible to the user but not linked on your navigation menu.

In this section of the back-end, you can create new pages, and edit & save the changes done to existing pages. On the top right corner, you can also check how your website looks on mobile.

Very straightforward!

SQUARESPACE DESIGN & STYLES

Squarespace Design
Squarespace Styles

The design section as the name suggests holds all the options for changing the style of your website. This is where you can upload your logo and favicon, customize checkout and 404 pages, amongst many other options. If you’re a coding expert this is also the place where you can add custom CSS to completely change the style of anything that isn’t made available by default on the design and style sections.

Squarespace also created a new section “Site Styles” that allows you to change the aesthetics of your entire website to match your brand in one go. The site style editor allows you to change fonts, colors, button styles, animations, spacing, buttons, and image blocks.

In general, this is the place where you can customize your website to match your brand and ensure it doesn’t look like any other website out there.

SQUARESPACE MARKETING

Can you imagine all your marketing in one place? It’s possible with Squarespace in the Marketing section. You can manage everything related to your digital marketing here. From email campaigns, SEO, pop-ups, announcements bars, and much more.

Squarespace couldn’t make this more organized and simple to manage!

SQUARESPACE SETTINGS

Squarespace Settings

All the tech settings are made available on the Settings section. This is the place where you can manage your site availability, language & region, business info, social links, domains, billing, etc.

This is by far the most complex tab of them all because it involves lots of technical terms, but even here with a little bit of reading and training, you can totally get there!

SQUARESPACE ANALYTICS

Squarespace has this great feature where you can see all your analytics. In the analytics section, you can view all the stats of your website by day, week, and month. You can view the visitors, page views, where your traffic is coming from (Google, Facebook, etc,), the device people are visiting your website from (mobile or desktop), the keywords visitors searched for to find your website, etc.

This tab is great as a general overview of your website stats, if you’re interested in learning more you can check this link: https://www.squarespace.com/websites/analytics.
